Egypt: "a newly refurbished phc to better serve the needs of the community of khosos"

26/11/18

Egypt:

Funded by the European Union and the German government and in cooperation with the Participatory Development Program in Urban Areas (PDP), Action Against Hunger and AOYE have been developing the improvement of the primary health care in Khosos.

El-Khosos primary health care clinic serves hundreds of people every day in the unplanned underprivileged urban area of Khosos. It offers multiples medical services ranging from family planning to vaccination, child health, and emergency examination.

As a primary health care centre, it serves the community as the main entry point for family health, namely women and children. Since February 2018 until the present day, more than 6000 community members have been benefiting monthly from an improved health care service delivery thanks to the refurbishment of the health services with new medical equipment and supplies. The nurses and doctors of the primary health care centre have been able to better serve their patients since February 2018 with the use of new medical equipment, furniture and medical supplies.
