Advocacy

We work to influence policies, programmes and budgets that can reduce hunger

Advocacy at Action Against Hunger has the aim of making lasting changes in policies, practices and intervention capacities in order to bring an end to hunger and malnutrition (especially acute malnutrition in children under five), influencing those responsible for political and economic decision-making and mobilising public support.

Advocacy

Incidencia política para la lucha contra el hambre

Our political and social advocacy is based on five fundamental pillars:

  1. Extend the treatment, prevention and diagnosis of acute malnutrition
  2. Mitigate the effects of seasonal hunger and recurring crises
  3. Promote sustainable access to food and basic water, sanitation and hygiene services in order to prevent acute malnutrition and increase resilience
  4. Promote change in humanitarian issues on a global scale
  5. Develop Action Against Hunger’s advocacy to its full potential

Our advocacy is based on humanitarian principles, on the needs of vulnerable populations and on evidence. It has a rights-based approach, encourages the building of partnerships and is aimed at results and policy change.
