Guiding the Way for Young Mothers in Sierra Leone

On November 6, 2015, the world celebrated the news that the deadly Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone was over, after reaching 42 days with no new reported cases. This was an historic victory for the government and people of Sierra Leone. Another public health victory was also recently recognized in Sierra Leone in support of the Millennium Development Goals: since 1990, the rate of maternal deaths in the country has been cut in half.

Reaching and staying a resilient zero

Sierra Leone started its new countdown of Ebola on Saturday 26th September. The country is to complete its 42 days of ‘0 cases’ period by midnight Friday, 6th November 2015.
