Around 3 million people have been affected by the latest emergencies in the Philippines. On 17 November, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck the island of Sarangani. The country continued to face adversity as only a few days later, heavy rainfall caused major flooding, affecting several areas of the country. Northern Samar in Eastern Visayas is the most affected province, with 422,495 individuals or 107,781 families impacted.

At least 150 people have lost their lives and 36 are missing after Tropical Storm Nalgae (local name Paeng) hit the Philippines on 28 to 31 October. The storm has caused severe flooding and landslides and, in some cases, has destroyed entire villages.
