Akhmeta LAG build project management skills during COVID-19 lockdown

In the context of Covid-19 lockdown Akhmeta LAG have been working on a 5-day online Project Cycle Management (PCM) training course to gain the necessary skills that will help them effectively use the funds that they have to rebuild the social and economic infrastructure in their communities when this virus passes.

Akhmeta LAG Executive Board begins work on Local Development Strategy (LDS)

17-18 February 2020 – The recently elected Executive Board of the Akhmeta Local Action Group (LAG) had its first meeting under the EU-funded ENPARD project, Promoting inclusive and participatory local development in Akhmeta Municipality. The aim of this first official session of the LAG Executive Board was to begin the formulation of the Local Development Strategy (LDS) by identifying strategic areas of concern in the municipality and to agree upon an achievable vision for development.

Akhmeta LAG formed and elects Executive Board

An excellent turnout for the first official meeting of the Akhmeta LAG and the opportunity was taken to elect LAG Executive Board members who would serve as representatives of their locality and their working sector: be it private enterprise, public service or civil society.

Nigeria: Action against Hunger condemns the execution of four more hostages and calls for the immediate release of the remaining hostage

The armed group responsible for kidnapping six humanitarian workers in north east Nigeria on 18 July, 2019 today claimed they have executed four hostages. This brings the number of fatalities to five. Action Against Hunger extends its deepest sympathies to their loved ones and our colleagues in Nigeria.

Entrepreneurship for Social Inclusion Forum

On the 5th December 2019 an Entrepreneurship Forum took place at the Sheraton Metekhi Palace Hotel, Tbilisi, Georgia within the framework of the “Economic and Social Participation of Vulnerable Displaced and Local Population in the South Caucasus” (EPIC) programme as implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in partnership with Action Against Hunger, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
