VET Accountancy students complete "Soft Skills Development for Employment" course.

On the 14^th June 2023 the closing ceremony of the professional training program, "Practical Accounting", was held in Shota Meskhia State Teaching University of Zugdidi. Within this program the learning component "Soft skills Development for Employment" had been integrated. This component is based upon the SHUTTLE methodology created by Action Against Hunger and our staff have been supporting the Teaching University in piloting its implementation.

During the closing ceremony, the participants spoke about their experiences and were awarded with certificates. The "Practical Accounting" course was completed by 11 students of which 5 have already started employment and 2 are now self-employed. After the closing event, the handicrafts made by some of the participants were exhibited.

The "SHUTTLE" programme is implemented within the framework of the project “Economic and Social Participation of Vulnerable Displaced and Local Population in the South Caucasus (EPIC)”, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health, and Social Affairs of Georgia (MOH).
