VIDEO: Helping families displaced by conflict in the Philippines
Olivier Longue reports from Zamboanga
Eighteen months ago, a 20-day conflict between the Philippine army and a faction of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) ravaged Zamboanga, leaving in its wake 140 dead, more than 10,000 houses destroyed and 118,000 people displaced.
Our teams have been supporting displaced families in Zamboanga, on the westernmost tip of the island of Mindanao. A recent survey we conducted showed that malnutrition rates among young children are very high.
