Planning for the future: Georgian and Lithuanian LAGs share experiences and discuss trans-national collaboration

On the 5th of October 2023, Zugdidi LAG hosted a joint meeting of the Lithuanian Local Action Group Association and the Georgian Association of LAGs (GALAG) with the support of Action Against Hunger (AAH). The meeting in Zugdidi came at the end of a long tour organized by GALAG where LAG members from Lithuania had the opportunity to visit and learn about the projects and activities of Georgian LAGs. During this tour, participants travelled first to Tskaltubo LAG, then up into the mountains of Svaneti to meet Mestia LAG and, finally back down to Zugdidi.

Action Against Hunger teams in Gaza and the West Bank are safe and will return to work as soon as it’s feasible

Action Against Hunger states that any deliberate and disproportionate targeting of civilians from parties is unacceptable and contrary to International Humanitarian Law, as well as the use of the civil population as human shields.

Exciting News from Tusheti Protected Landscape!

Tusheti Protected Landscape Administration (TPLA) is dedicated to preserving the rich biodiversity of this stunning region of Georgia. Recently, Action Against Hunger and Akhmeta LAG has supported the Administration on an essential journey to monitor and safeguard the diverse flora and fauna that call Tusheti home. Thanks to the TPLA gaining support from the Akhmeta LAG grant competition, they have made significant strides in their conservation efforts. This grant has enabled the acquisition of biodiversity monitoring equipment, including photo traps, cameras, and shoulder-mounted cameras for rangers when on patrol.
