Kids get animated about hygiene!

Since late 2020, Action Against Hunger (AAH) has been working with schools and IDP communities on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and Covid-19 response measures for the protection of children and their families, within the framework of the project “Economic and Social Participation of Vulnerable Displaced and Local Population in the South Caucasus” (EPIC) programme as implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in partnership with Action Against Hunger, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Zugdidi LAG learns the ropes of community-led development

From the 31st May to 5th June 2021, more than 60 members of the Zugdidi Local Action Group (LAG) took part in a two-day training on the LEADER/CLLD (Community-Led Local Development) approach under the project “Improving local governance through inclusive development approaches”, implemented by Action Against Hunger and funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) with funds from Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).

Bright start for Zugdidi Local Action Group

On the 28th April 2021, a launch event was held in Zugdidi TechPark for the Zugdidi Local Action Group (LAG) under the project “Improving local governance through inclusive development approaches”, implemented by Action Against Hunger and funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) with funds from Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).

Emergency food and hygiene support in Armenia

Since December 2020, Action Against Hunger has been working with the local NGO, Armenian Progressive Youth (APY), to provide emergency support to people displaced by the recent armed conflict in Nagorno Karabakh. Under the support of the programme “Economic and social participation of vulnerable displaced persons and local population in the South Caucasus (EPIC)” implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) more than 6,700 displaced persons now residing in Yerevan and Ararat region have received food packages, hygiene items and infant kits.

EPIC works for clean water and sanitation

Action Against Hunger is currently supporting 12 public schools and 3 IDP collective centres to improve sanitation infrastructure and access to clean water.

Schoolkids learn the basics in hygiene promotion

Since late 2020, Action Against Hunger has been working to better protect children and their families through the provision of hygiene and COVID-19 response measures in schools in east and west Georgia.
