One of our Malnutrition Treatment Centers Looted in Sudan, Now Restored

The acute malnutrition admission trend among children under five (U5) is increasing due to the current crisis. Meanwhile, attacks on health care continue to be reported across the country. The Malnutrition Stabilisation Center that Action Against Hunger supports in Garsila, Central Darfur, was target of one of these attacks and was looted. The teams have renstored it and it is functional again. We tell you why this is so important.

Since fighting escalated on April 15, food prices have doubled, and movement is increasingly restricted. Fighting in Sudan could further plunge millions more into hunger. Prior to this outbreak, 15.8 million people, Sudan had over 11 million people acutely food insecure.
