Helping to meet the immediate needs of refugees in Mission Armenia’s Centres
Since the 19th September, with the renewal of conflict in Nagorno Karabakh, over 100,000 ethnic Armenian refugees have fled to Armenia. Responding to this humanitarian crisis, Action Against Hunger, in partnership with People in Need and Mission Armenia, have been providing a wide array of support to these refugees. In the aftermath of this displacement, this support has focused on the immediate needs of the refugees through the provision of pre-paid supermarket cards which they can use to purchase essential items such as food, hygiene products and household items. These cards enable people to exert a higher level of agency in the selection of such supplies.

Georgian and Moldovan LAGs strengthening linkages for future Rural Development Cooperation
From the 26th to the 28th October, Action Against Hunger South Caucasus and the Georgian Association of Local Action Groups (GALAG) hosted a delegation from the National Moldova LEADER Network in Zugdidi. The purpose of this visit was to promote linkages between Local Action Groups (LAGs) In Georgia and Moldova while creating an environment of learning and collaboration between both parties.

Gaza is dying of thirst. 2.3 million people living in the Gaza Strip urgently need water. According to estimates, the population has seen its average daily water consumption reduced to three litres, which includes hygiene and cooking needs. Our staff tell us that they only have one litre of water a day for the next few days.

Action Against Hunger is deeply concerned about the multiple closures and restrictions on movement of Palestinian communities in the West Bank. The closures prevent Palestinian communities from accessing essential services such as markets to buy food, fodder for their animals and medicines.
