Action Against Hunger supports Baby Friendly Spaces in social centres in Armenia

Since February 2021, Action Against Hunger has been working closely with the local non-governmental organization Mission Armenia (MA) to provide baby-friendly spaces for breastfeeding mothers who have been displaced by the recent conflict in Nagorno Karabakh. The support has been provided within the project “Supporting urgent food security, nutrition, hygiene and health needs of spontaneous arrivals and vulnerable host communities in Armenia”, funded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs’ Crisis and Support Centre (CDCS).

MoU signed with Republic of Armenia Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and GIZ

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Action Against Hunger, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MoLSA) of the Republic of Armenia on 12th August 2021.

French Ambassador meets with mothers & babies from Nagorno Karabakh

French Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia visits Hrazdan Day-Care Centre within the project “Supporting urgent food security, nutrition, hygiene and health needs of spontaneous arrivals and vulnerable host communities in Armenia”, funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and implemented by Action Against Hunger and local NGO Mission Armenia.

Young Leaders trained for Community Action

From the 12th - 17th of June, eight Young Leaders from Zugdidi and Akhmeta municipalities came together in the seaside town of Batumi for several days of workshops and training under the project “Improving local governance through inclusive development approaches”, implemented by Action Against Hunger and funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) with funds from Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).

Kids get animated about hygiene!

Since late 2020, Action Against Hunger (AAH) has been working with schools and IDP communities on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and Covid-19 response measures for the protection of children and their families, within the framework of the project “Economic and Social Participation of Vulnerable Displaced and Local Population in the South Caucasus” (EPIC) programme as implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in partnership with Action Against Hunger, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Zugdidi LAG learns the ropes of community-led development

From the 31st May to 5th June 2021, more than 60 members of the Zugdidi Local Action Group (LAG) took part in a two-day training on the LEADER/CLLD (Community-Led Local Development) approach under the project “Improving local governance through inclusive development approaches”, implemented by Action Against Hunger and funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) with funds from Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).
